Release Documentation

3/24/22 - Links updated on "Newton Rezoning and Newton's Current Land Use and Taxation."  Two previous links were pointing to old versions of other chapters.

12/16/21 - A typo was fixed in "Newton Rezoning and Newton's Current Land Use and Taxation." The phrase "there has been almost no public information  the" was removed.

10/28/21 - A typo was fixed in "Newton Rezoning and YOUR Home." The sentence "This unprecedented and easily abused subjective power of the ISD Commissioner over address-specific single-family size limits also never occurred in ANY of the 100 form-based codes reviewed" was changed to "This unprecedented and easily abused subjective power of the ISD Commissioner over address-specific single-family size limits also never occurred in ANY of the 100 codes reviewed."

8/15/21 - "Newton Rezoning and YOUR Home" replaced and updated to 4/21/21 Res District Code, "Newton Rezoning and Newton's Private Golf Courses" replaced and updated with re-formatted data and references to ZAP discussion. "Newton Rezoning and Newton's Current Land Use and Taxation" replaced and updated with reformatted tables and per residential unit tax rates.

8/15/21 - Homepage updated with new links. Phrase "multi-unit conversions of up to six units would be allowed in single-families, depending on size and type," qualified by "for 3 of the 5 proposed residence districts." "Newton Rezoning and its Unstructured and Insular Draft Process" is reformatted for better fit of table. Content unchanged.

7/14/21-7/18/21 - Password protection had been accidentally applied to "Newton Rezoning and Actions You Can Take." Page was set to public.

6/19/21 - "NR and Actions You Can Take" has two punctuation/wording fixes. The sentence "In other words the Newton rezoning code content and process are 100% Ruthanne Fuller." is changed to "In other words, the Newton rezoning code content and process are 100% Ruthanne Fuller." The sentence "A full list of Mayoral and City Council candidates and NewtonRezoning.org's endorsements will be published after the nomination process is complete in mid-summer 2021." is changed to "A full list of Mayoral and City Council candidates, along with NewtonRezoning.org's endorsements, will be published after the nomination process is complete in mid-summer 2021."

6/17/21 - "NR and Actions You Can Take" is replaced and updated. Updates were made to outdated contact information and links, and text was added about the upcoming election.

6/16/21 - "NR and Newton's Non-Condo Single-Family and Two-Family Homes" Table 1, Iframe settings adjusted to fix truncated table display.

5/27/21 - In "NR And Newton's Non-Condo Single-Family and Two-Family Homes," Table 5B rear setback row headings fixed and current driveway ordinance information was added to Table 1. On the Homepage, the phrase "Private golf courses would be rezoned from residential to recreational, decreasing both Newton's available land for housing and its probable tax revenue" was changed to "Private golf courses would be rezoned from residential to recreational, decreasing Newton's available land for housing, the probable sale prices of the Golf Courses, and, possibly, Newton's tax revenue." Also, on the Homepage, the date of the last Planning Department update was changed to 4/26/21.

3/10/21 [Approximate] Heading material added to the homepage to indicate that the Planning Department had issued a new version of Article 3, Residence Districts on 2/12/21.

1/20/21 - "City Council Candidate Endorsements" added.

12/17/20 - "NR and Newton's Non-Condo Single-Family and Two-Family Homes" Two bad links fixed. Clarification added that architect group had been working with Planning Department.

12/16/20 - Fonts and wording changed on Table of Contents for better visibility.

12/13/20 - SITE RELEASED TO PUBLIC. ANNOUNCEMENTS SENT.

12/13/20 - Email addresses and Friday Packet link added to "NR and Actions You Can Take." Minor wording changes in Text. More explanation added to "NR and YOUR House," regarding Family Duplexes and Sasaki Data. Minor text changes in "NR and its Unstructured and Insular Process."

12/12/20 -12/13/20 Substantial Rewrite of "Newton Rezoning and Newton's Non-Condo Single-Family and Two-Family Homes" with more clarification about the ambiguities in the proposed code and the treatment of the 277 Family Style Duplexes. Data Tables unchanged.

12/11/20 - "Newton Rezoning and Current Land Use and Taxation" and  "Newton Rezoning and Newton's Non-Condo Single-Family and Two-Family Homes" are both fixed to clarify that Newton's Special Permit Granting Authority is the Newton "City Council after a review process conducted by the Land Use Committee." There are also minor grammatical text fixes in "Newton Rezoning and Current Land Use and Taxation" and more explanation added about the college dormitory count. In "Newton Rezoning and YOUR Home," missing street sections labels for Beacon/Walnut are fixed. More text is added to explain about addresses with dashes, street sections, and houses excluded from the calculator. In "Newton Rezoning and its Unstructured and Insular Process" and in "Newton Rezoning and Actions You Can Take," minor grammar and spelling text errors are fixed.

12/10/20 - "Newton Rezoning and YOUR Home" text changed to highlight Sasaki data quality. Table 1 title numbering changed and Table 1B "House Type Allowed" column label fixed.

12/09/20 - NewtonRezoning.org website set to "Public." Link sent to reviewers with statement that public announcement would be sent after the site runs for at least 24 hours.
